Sony Corporation established a relief fund of $100 million to support those affected by the coronavirus. “The “Sony Global Relief Fund” aims to provide assistance for frontline medical staff and other first responders, which includes medical staff, first responders, home-schooling teachers and children. In addition, this Fund support unemployed professionals from the creative and entertainment industry.
The amount will be sent to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, along with the contributions of Médecins Sans Frontières, the United Nations Children’s Fund and to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to assist medical workers and others working as frontline professionals. Sony will also work with its external partners to support activities to stop the spread and contribute to the development of COVID-19 treatments internally, the company has been given a matching gift to approximately 110,00 employees worldwide to those who would like to show some support.
