The Non-government profit organization, ATD Fourth World Philippines is coordinating efforts to support the most affected by the pandemic in the country, giving priority to those living under the worst conditions and persistent poverty, especially focusing on helping the most isolated areas. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic brought many social-economic negative outcomes, with a large amount of the population facing higher rates of unemployment, food insecurity, and lack of access to proper healthcare.
The organization encourages public participation to help mitigate the impacts of the pandemic, especially on the most vulnerable population. They collect donations and coordinate with the general public willing to support the Solidarity Action. Through a partnership with the organization Caritas Manila, they were also able to distribute nutritious meals and even provided financial assistance to those who lost their source of income during the pandemic.
