The Thai Company Tom Casava Develops Eco-Friendly Protective Face Masks

Tom Casava is a Thai company that uses waste cassava stumps from cassava plantations and converts them into high-value, high-priced activated carbon for industrial, agricultural, household and healthcare applications.

The company has decided to take measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic by collaborating in the development of a high-quality face mask that aims to provide the highest level of protection and also be respectful of the environment. These masks provide fully biodegradable air filters with microporous activated carbon prepared from cassava root that allows both air purification and the elimination of harmful particles.
