The Spanish Organisation Naeco, Designs and Develops “Hope”, the Handle-Type Device to Open the Doors Without Using the Hands

Naeco (previously Nortpalet) is a global company dedicated to the development, manufacturing and marketing of sustainable solutions for freight transport. They have a comprehensive process that allows us to transform plastic waste into high value-added resources to improve the logistics process of their products.

Naeco company joins efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. It does so with an innovative project called “Hope”. This consists of the design and development of a handle-type device to open the doors without using the hands.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, health authorities have reported different ways to prevent the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), contact with frequently used surfaces, such as a door handle, could be one of the main routes of transmission of COVID-19.

The purpose is to distribute the handle-type device to the most vulnerable groups affected by the pandemic.

For the manufacturing of the plastic device, the intervention and participation of various sectors and companies is required, so the company seeks to be an example of collaboration by calling all those companies willing to participate and join forces with them.

To date, firms such as Izertis, which provides a visual identity to the project, and Donetec engineering have joined the project.
