Colegio Oficial de Psicología de Madrid Offers Specialized Mental Health Care Amid COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis

The Official College of Psychology of Madrid was founded in 1980 and thanks to its more than 17,000 members it has become the largest regional College of Psychologists in Spain and Europe and has managed to achieve recognized social and institutional prestige.

The official announcement of the COVID-19 pandemic and the associated lockdowns have had an impact on individuals, families and social dynamics, affecting particularly the most vulnerable social groups- such as children and adolescents – in situations of social risk- and also users of municipal Social Services in general.

For this reason, the Official College of Psychology of Madrid together with the General Directorate of Children, Families and Adolescents of the Community of Madrid have launched a temporary intervention service, offering specialized psychological support, complementary to resources and existing care programs and interventions, in those areas in which the increase in demand and the need to attend exceeds existing resources.
