The Unemployment Law Project Promotes a Weekly Webinar Offering Legal Advice to People Unemployed Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic

The Unemployment Law Project provides free legal representation, free advice and counsel to people who have been denied unemployment benefits or those from whom award of benefits is being challenged. The organisation represented more than 1,000 individuals throughout the state in administrative hearings and litigate appeals in state courts. They also have a helpline to advise and educate citizens about the unemployment system. Finally, they lobby in the Washington Legislature and coordinated with the Employment Security Department on improvements to the law for all claimants. Their recurring webinar called “Q&A about COVID-19 and Unemployment Benefits” takes place every Monday and it is open to the general public. It aims to answer questions about how the Coronavirus is affecting unemployment benefits.
