The Social Projects of Habitat para a Humanidade Brasil
Habitat para a Humanidade Brasil (Habitat for Humanity Brazil) began operating in the country in 1992, motivated by the vision that everyone deserves a decent place to live. Since then, it has developed social projects in 11 Brazilian states and helped more than 80,000 people in the construction or improvement of their homes, and has worked on improving access to potable water for families residing in regions often affected by drought.
The organization also works in democratic spaces to propose and influence public policies on access to housing.
In 2020, they have set up the #EspalheSolidariedade (#SpreadSolidarity) campaign, to raise funds for people living in precarious housing conditions, where the virus is could spread even faster. All donations will benefit communities in the Northeast, Midwest, South, and Southeast of Brazil.
