The Franciscan Solidarity Service (Sefras) Helps the Vulnerable Population
The Franciscan Solidarity Service (Serviço Franciscano de Solidariedade – Sefras), is a religious organization headed by the Franciscan branch of the Catholic Church. Based in São Paulo, Brazil, the institution provides several social and educational actions for vulnerable sectors of the population.
To minimize the effect of the pandemic on underprivileged groups such as homeless people, immigrants, refugees, and low-income families, Sefras has redirected its efforts to the collection and distribution of food parcels, hygiene supplies, and PPE.
It is possible to directly donate the necessary items at one of the multiple collection points in São Paulo. For a full list of the collection points available, please visit http://www.sefras.org.br/novo/acao-e-solidariedade-franciscana-covid-19/. For monetary donations, visit www.doesefras.org.br.
