The library of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) have joined forces alongside several UN entities to deliver a quick and efficient response to the pandemic that addresses the specific needs for access to information in Africa.
The African Knowledge Hub for COVID-19 is a first of its kind in the continent; and the result of the joint effort of UN bodies and agencies acting as One UN —with technical expertise on the development of the Hub provided by ECA.
The ground-breaking database gathers and centralizes all official and fact-checked information on COVID-19 in Africa, rendering it available to all: UN entities, governments and the public alike.
This Hub —effectively a living database— is updated with real-time data from official sources, making the latest information on the COVID-19 pandemic applicable to all African countries, available under one single domain address.
