Resala Association launches the “Challenge of Goodness” initiative to contain the COVID-19 pandemic
The Resala Association in Egypt launched the “Challenge of Goodness” initiative to contain the effects of the COVID-19, especially the financial consequences on the most needy classes of daily workers and handicrafts that will be severely affected by the interruption of their work.
This challenge met with a supportive response among all segments of society and incentivizes those with sufficient capacities to support families in need of help, especially for the difficult circumstances after the source of their income was cut off. In this context, the association succeeded in covering the basic financial and food needs of 100,000 families for a month, at an average of 500 pounds per family. The priority was to grant donations to families sponsored by breadwinner women, who work to secure an income for their families, as well as those with chronic illnesses, and families headed by day laborers and handicrafts.
