Non-profit organisation monitors rights violation during COVID-19 pandemic in Bulgaria
The Bulgarian Center for Not-for-Profit Law (BCNL) was created in 2001 with the aim to protect the right to association and develop the legal framework for the creation of civil society organisations. The organisation provides support for the drafting and implementation of legislation and policies aiming to create an independent and prosperous civil society, with civil participation and good governance in Bulgaria.
The Bulgarian organisation is engaged in monitoring the violation of rights during the state of emergency during the pandemic. Especially questioning the necessity of a temporary derogation from the European Convention on Human Rights announced by the Minister of Justice in March 2020.
