The “Artist emergency relief fund” was created to help artists facing financial hardship during the pandemic in Ireland. Thirty percent of artists, arts workers, and performers earn under the minimum wage already. During this unprecedented crisis, they represent one of the most impacted groups.

The fund was established to provide financial relief to Irish artists who has lost income due to the COVID-19 crisis. Small grants of up to €500 are paid to affected artists and groups. Donations are accepted by individuals and corporations in order to replenish the fund and continue making payments to eligible artists in the queue. The Civic is covering all admin/processing costs so 100% of every donation goes directly to artists in the community.
