Zomato feeding India is an initiative, with the mission to ensure ‘better food for more people’ and ‘zero hunger’ to take the dream of ending hunger a step closer to reality.

They are working with a network of over 26,000 volunteers across over 100 cities in India to provide the right channels for citizens willing to act to solve the hunger’s burden locally.

They have decided to contribute in joint efforts to fight the pandemic by creating ‘Feed the Daily Wager’ to ensure that less people sleep hungry during the period of lockdowns.

They provide food support to daily wager communities that are currently unable to support their families. They deliver ration kits with wheat flour or rice, and two types of pulses required for a family of 5 for one whole week.

In order to achieve this mission: 50 Zomato employees, over 500 Feeding India volunteers (aka Hunger Heroes), 99,883 individuals, 66 companies and 426 NGOs are supporting daily wagers.

Food rations were given to millions of struggling daily wagers across India. “… our teams have taken it upon themselves to ensure there is food for everyone. It’s times like these that we all need to band together as a community and help each other survive these hard times “
