Afrika Awake is a non-Profit Organization based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Its core focus is assisting Refugees and asylum seekers living in South Africa, as well as implementing social inclusion initiatives. The organization was created in the effort to combat the 2008 financial crisis and to stop the ongoing xenophobic violence in South Africa. Since then, they have been raising funds and collecting food donations to help in need and for victims of xenophobic attacks.

To bolster its efforts in helping underprivileged communities during the pandemic, Afrika Awake has partnered with organizations such as the African Diaspora Forum and the Angel Network to distribute food parcels, clothing items, and masks to refugees, asylum seekers and homeless people.
